10 of us attended the function on 9 June 2012 at the Putera Ballroom. This was the first time the Malaysian Championship was held in Sabah. The winners will represent our country in the World Dance Sport Championship. It was indeed a rare opportunity for us to witnessed Malaysia's best dancers in so many different genre of dances ranging from the waltz and quickstep to the samba and tango.Line Dance , a Dance Sport is also part of the the competition but for this year there were no entries.
The evening was very enjoyable with good fellowship and exciting entertainment. We loved watching the children under 9 years competing in waltz!. Little boys acting like men holding their little partners as they glide over the floor in their very adult costumes..We were very drawn to the beautiful dresses of the dancers and were understandably biased in picking the best dancers !We rooted for our favourite contestants to win and Elizabeth chose the correct winner, who was dressed in bridal white with lots of bling . There was open dancing for us to enjoy but as expected we all stayed rooted to our seats.
