Americano for Mon 30 May & 1 June

This will be a jamming dance in the dinner party after Simon Ward workshop in Kuching on 25 June.
We know many of the dances BUT not AMERICANO by Simon Ward.
The dance is phrased, challenging & 100 % enjoyable to a great track.
And a lot easier than Marz and Mummies. Very friendly steps which we are so familiar with. Music guides you into the phrases.

Note: A & C - slow. B- fast with simple steps.
B*- * is the part when the song is in instrumental.
( cancel last 4 steps of the Charleston) and contine with the remaining dance (twist, to the end)).
B# - only instrumental .Ends after the Charelston and RESTART here as the vocals return with the slow Part A.

We shall learn slowly in 2 lessons.
I have tried the dance sequence. Its not hard at all.

It requires attitude and energy so give it all you got. Have fun.

A big Thank You to Tom Glover for finding us the song.
Oh did we mention Part B is really fast.

By popular demand our class venue remains in the Sacred Heart Hall.

Caballero for 25 May 2011

I think this must be the best of Ira's choreography.(Seduced,Mojo Rhythm, Cumbia Semana, Linda Eh, Mirame, ballando etc etc)

A Rumba with a touch of Tango.
Ira says this is a very popular song in Italy and is included in most parties....

"This Rumba/Tango (from Italy) is an elegant combination of rhythms that give you the feeling you are dancing on air. The response to this dance has been wonderful. The greatest compliment, however, has been from Italy !!! I have received numerous e-mails and comments from line dancers in Italy who are already teaching it in their classes and at workshops and gatherings all over Italy!!"

What's the verdict on the new Venue?

Yesterday about 24 of us tested the Rumah MPS. The security guard forgot to switch on all the lights around the compound and it was rather a dark drive up the lane.
The sound system was very good but as it was a fully air conditioned facility there were no fans. Everybody lost 1 kg of water.

We'll take a vote in our next class on Monday in the Sacred Heart Hall. If we are keen ,we have to request for some fans to be installed.

Testing Out a Great Venue for Our Class

I think I have found the ideal place for our line dance class. It has a stage for me to prance around and is equipped with a beautiful sound system, which to me is top priority for our dancing pleasure.
We just walk in with our CDs and dance the night away!. The venue is Rumah MPMS, Majlis Perkhidmatan Masyarakat Sabah ( Sabah Council of Social Services).
Location: The blue roof single storey building is located along mile 2, Jalan Tuaran on the opposite side of the road to the Govt Printers and Wisma Wanita.

Direction:
1. First you need to drive pass Kian Kok School, along Jalan Tuaran.
2. After driving past the school you will see a cemetery on the hill on the same side of the road. Continue ahead and you will see an inner road parallel to the main Jalan Tuaran road.
3.There are 2 bus stops in the inner road. At the 2nd bus stop the inner road exits into the main road.
4. There is a sign board next to the 2nd bus stop, "Sabah Council of Social Services...etc etc". Our venue is just behind this bus stop, on a higher ground.
5. Just turn left and drive into the gated compound. Its an uphill road
(The govt flats and some private houses are in the vicinity.

We will test out this place for our next class on Wed 18 May 2011. If we like it, this will be our new dance studio!!!!!
In the meantime please check this place out before class.

See you in our next class on Monday 16 May in the Sacred Heart hall.
